Cindy Cooksey at SJMQT

This is Cindy. I just came back from a driving trip up north with my husband, with the purpose of getting me to an artists' reception at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles this past Sunday. I have a quilt in an exhibit called "Tasty Too!."
There is a concurrent exhibit called "Metamorphosis: Clothing and Identity." It is an amazing collection that I highly recommend seeing. I took a photo of a sweater made by Kaffe Fassett, but there is much more to see.
I took a photo of the crowd in the reception room. The woman in the red vest is Yvonne Porcella. Both exhibits run through April 27, so if you get the chance, go and see them!

First Friday Valentines Day Party!

Peggy brought so much Valentine stuff to make cards, and hangars.  Vickie (who had not talked to Peggy first) brought the same examples of these darling, vintage cards & hangars.  How serendipitous!

Here we are having fun with ribbon, paper, lace, etc.

One table wasn't enough for all the stuff we had.  There was also a counter full & two small nesting tables in use here too
 Here are Peggy's Cards
 Here are Joanell's cards
 And Miss Vickies

I was making fabric heart shaped yo-yo's.
I was also working on getting a small work finished for Leslie Riley's Art Call  due on 2/15.

Girl Scout cookies were had and gummie bears!

Fabulous company and a wonderful art filled evening!
We are missing Miss Cindy who is off gallivanting with her visiting family!

The reception was fabulous! Kudos to Jeanette Kelley who arranged the event!

Here we are!

Our pieces were interspersed throughout the gallery.

I am hoping that others who took photos will post them.

January Meet Up

Fabulous meet up for January!
Joanelle brought stuff for us to do - she brought packs of beautiful card stock, scrap fancy papers & magazines.

We all had fun collaging and creating cards to sell a the Whittier show debuting this Saturday!
I didnt' get around the table to shoot all the cards but here's mine to give you an idea.
